My Collectormania 10 report

Saturday 30th September 2006
I waited about 5 hours to see Juliet who was signing fairly slowly so that she could talk to every single fan for a fair amount of time. I got to see her at around 2:30pm. As soon as I approached her table I said "Hi Juliet, do you remember me?" and to my amazement she said "Yeah actualy I do! Oh my God- how are you?!" and we excahnged greetings, saying that we hadn't seen each other for 2 years. I explained that I'd wanted to attend the Halloween event but it was too expensive, but had to make these 2 days because the event was local, and she seemed very pleased with the effort I'd made. I gave her a black rose and a letter which I think she appreciated. She asked where my "sister" was, and then remembered it is my Mum who accompanies me a lot, and asked how she was. I then asked if she'd gotten the letter I wrote thanking her for coming and being announced on my birthday weekend this year but she informed me that her N Vine St address in Los Angeles no longer works. So, I told her that I'd written about Insane Drusilla and asked to make it official to which she asked if I had contact info to do that. I said no, so a friend (I think? or possibly someone from management) took down the website address, to which I am estatic about! Then an hour later I had a photo taken with her and she remembered both my name and my nickname. She seems to love both my handmade Drusilla t-shirt and the Spike and Dru one which I own. I think I must've been talking to her for at least 5 minutes and we were chatting like old friends, she was amazing.

Sunday 1st October 2006
I got there early yet again and had to only wait an hour to see Juliet. Her face lit up when she saw me again and she was amazed at how early I'd gotten there. I gave her a leaflet for a special clock in the shopping centre called "The Time Machine", which strikes every hour, plays a tune, has a fan raise, a ball bearing being passed around and a frog which spins and blows bubbles, as I thought it'd be something which would be interesting to look at from Drusilla's perspective, as myself and my friends and family enjoy it very much. I think she went to check it out later. She complimented me on a pair of zip earrings I wore, and I explained that I have an addiction to ear piercings, and she asked if any had hurt, as the hole in my cartilage looke scary to her. Then I introduced her to Mum, and I heard her say "Hi, how are you?! I've met your daughter so many times!!!" so I said "Yeah, what, like 8 now?" and she laughed, and I said I'd be back. Mum says she spoke about a friend who gave birth a year ago, and they were talking about babies, as my Mum became a grandmum last year.
I really enjoyed myself at this event and it was clear Juliet did too. I hope to see her back again soon.
